A couple of points on your post, 26025 was D5325 which is the loco at Strathspey. D5335 was 26035 and this one is at Brechin. All class 26s had windows in the doors from new, this continued up until early BR blue days as seen in this photo (not mine)...

No, for instance the two Fife Circle loco hauled trains stood idle when they could have been used with a bit of pre planning. It's all been done before for the golf and been highly successful.

Not sure about the Freightliner 70s but the Colas 70s suffer from this issue awaiting spares from GE. 70801 and 70803 were out of traffic for about a year each. 70808 is currently out of traffic with a status M awaiting materials, this one has been out of service for well over a year now.

When I passed on 22 July there were 10 stored 70s, in order from the Woodlesford end- 70004 70001 70014 70011 70019 70009 70017 70018 70016 70013 I videoed this on my phone and in freeze frame each number is legible but sometimes a little difficult to make out because of the palisade fence in front!
