Whilst test runs elsewhere are very welcome progress, it can't be overstated that it's those Carlisle/Bletchley mileage runs which are the absolute key to making real headway. I believe its only set 9 which has done the runs so far and it has been on them for nearly 3 months now.

Indeed, they were pretty open about the brake issues last autumn, both externally and internally, and I would have thought anything to do with safety systems would be pretty 'sensitive'. But, of course, that was a manufacturer issue....

Both the TPE 802's are there, 802201 (I think that's the vinyled one) and behind it 802202. I think I read somewhere they're are doing tests for LNER.

If anybody has access to them, I believe a National Incident Report has been issued about the CAF/TPE mk.5's which covers the problems with the ASDO and door operation.

Thank you "PennineSuperb", most informative. You can't help but feel that the C-ASDO system fitted to the 185's will be more reliable and cause less confusion.

69 mk. 5 coaches replacing 66 185 vehicles. But 22 185's doubled up would only give 11 "trains" as opposed to the 13 rakes of mk.5's.

I believe its very tight, perhaps even down to a metre. It's also the case that each Nova train has a slightly different system, and the 185's are different again. The beacons for 185's are installed now at most stations where TPE stop and can be seen fixed to a sleeper between the rails...

There was an incident with doors at Greenfield during a test run and that was a Wednesday, but 4 weeks ago, which is why I sought clarification.

Was the actual incident which NIR3551 relates to on Wednesday night, or previously?

68022 leading 68031 ("Felix") are heading to Scarborough on 0P68. 68020 should also be running to Scarborough from York with a driver training trip.

Yes, 68027 has wheel flats and is awaiting a visit to a wheel lathe. 68029 would have been on the depot on Saturday. Thanks for the update by the way.
