    I heard somewhere that Virgin Crosscountry planned to refurb HST's under the classification Class 255 Virgin Challenger sets. Does anyone know what services this would have ran on and what the refurb involved.

    180’s probably end up at Grand Central. 185’s might not go from TPE. There is also EMR 158’s and 156’s available. 175’s are a real possibility remember we need 12 or 14 of them so does that affect 175’s, 158’s and 156’s.

    Yeah I also don’t think 185’s will be used and TPE will keep these for Liverpool to Nottingham

    185’s might not leave TPE. 175’s might be good. 158’s or 156’s from EMR?

    I think they may use 221’s and 222’s. HST’s being ruled out, if the modern railways article was correct, personally they seemed like the best solution as there are loads of them.

    I think the stoke service will head to Manchester Piccadilly via Old Oak Common, Birmingham Interchange, Stafford, Macclesfield and Stockport

    HS2 is going ahead construction starts in April
