Brilliant! Just a couple of points - wouldn't it have been better inside the station so you can stay dry before getting the train - and does it have toilets (if not - better to be inside and closer!). Also looks a bit on the small side but so does Victoria Tap. I'll be calling ASAP, maybe even...
It will actually put me off day trips to the Fylde coast. So their economy suffers a little - what if hundreds think likewise? A total retrograde step, wouldn't be so bad if they were refurbed 2x2 or even a small first-class upgrade.
When HS2 finally opens, it might be faster and easier to get from Heathrow to Manchester than Heathrow to Gatwick. That should be a priority, linking Gatwick (and the SE) with Heathrow by rail but financially it looks impossible. Perhaps more flights to Gatwick are needed for connections?
Bolton has 4 (well, 5 but P2 rarely used if ever) and has a junction, lines to Blackburn and Preston northbound. Think trains can't access P4 or 5 from the Blackburn line, only 1 and 3?
Have I read this correctly as stated in the above posts - Northern who have been running 331's on the Blackpool route (4 carriages) are being replaced by much older - albeit refurbished - 6-carriage stock, the 323's? Which looks to me to be 3 x 2 seating, thus uncomfortable for...
Before asking Syrians here to return, it's probably prudent to give the current situation at least six months to settle down. Any Syrians here working in key industries (eg NHS/Education) we would probably want to stay; but to dangle a carrot I reckon the government should then offer (say) £5000...
So glad the big screen will revert to proper train information; I agree about getting rid of the smaller transverse ones making more space. However I read on TwiX that people with sight issues can read the smaller ones better, so maybe remove and replace somewhere near assisted travel areas?
The last train from Victoria to Bolton last night - cancelled; and the last train from Piccadilly/Oxford Road also cancelled. Beyond a joke; returning to Bolton has the alternative of the local buses, but what about those returning to Chorley and beyond? Must cost Northern more in taxi fares...
Notice last night we were back to bustitutions for both trains (Manchester - Bolton) after 11pm. Whenever evening services are cut, those two seem to be first in line - I've written on here before it simply stops you having a night out in town - and if hundreds felt the same way it's hitting the...
Would have thought the sensible option would be for the buses (to be forced to) accept train tickets for those who could use them? Would clear some of the station and make running trains less full?
Maybe if we ever had an integrated public transport system?
I'm not a Bolton fan even though I live there, but it seemed a good move to me, cheap flat land, lots of space, by the motorway and rail station, only issue was, of course, like a few others (Brighton for eg) way out of town, and as such a bother to get there.
And much less footfall in the town...
Assuming Bury were still an EFL side, with Bolton now playing in Horwich 6 miles or so from the town centre, a lot of eastern Bolton is closer to Bury so Gigg would be their closest ground!
Eurostar was on platform 7 at Centraal, with a clear message "do not board"! Wonder what it was doing there?
Meanwhile, Haarlem is a gorgeous town with station to match..here's pic;
Lidl's long life milk, once it's opened there's a little silver flap inside so when you pour it goes all over the place. So awkward I decant the whole lot into a "proper" milk bottle.
I'm sure I'm not the only one??
