Not sure whether this is railway related but there appears to alot of work going on north of Peterborough next to the track on the left hand side as far as the line splits for Spalding,
As soon as you enter the Spalding line the work continues for a short while

Is the line now closed completely
Was speaking to someone yesterday and they said all the track was rusty and nature has started to claim some of the track bed
If that is the case its looking like the line is going to need alot of money invested to run trains again
Is there scope to have the doors removed and then add new ones where they are supposed to be if they decide having only 1 door was a mistake
I know they do this type of thing with buses, when they get cascaded from London Transport duties they go back to Alexander Dennis and have the middle...
If anyone has back problems its better they stand all the way than sit down, and if they didnt have a bad back before boarding and sitting in them seats they will sure enough have a back problem when they get off
They have been the victim of vandalism at Dereham station a few times over the last 18 months with carriages being destroyed
Also further up the line they have been suffering vandalism on a bridge near Fakenham, the support bars keep being snapped as soon as they repair them and only this...
Heard two different stories today, the short set will continue to operate until October, then heard it finishes this friday as new train enters service on Monday
A lot of the track needs lifting and relaying, the land it sits on needs work as well, there is a picture on one of the other threads at the Moira end where its like a ski slope

Very often the case, from experience down south here in Cambridge its the same, those that want to fare evade find it easier as the guard/inspector wont come round between Ely/Bishops Stortford/Royston as they think people will get caught at the gates however what people do is go round Cambridge...
That's the route I normally take although the train from Leeds usually goes straight through amd stops at Preston, haven't had to change trains there unless on a replacement coach from Blackpool
