Oyster is only valid as far as West Drayton, so anyone west of there would be using Contactless if they weren't using traditional tickets or buying on a phone. It's not just the main line, but also the three branches to Windsor, Marlow and Henley.

There are numerous threads in "Disputes" where people have been stopped with expired railcards. The name Trainline seems to feature in many of these. Also Trainline don't appear to retain records of historic Railcard purchases.

It should be, but be warned that ticket retailers may not retain railcard details even when they sold them. They may demand evidence of valid railcards, sometimes going back several years.
