Perhaps a single tram line up and down the Strand in front of the Liver building would be a decent tourist option. It's one of the few routes wide enough to accommodate trams and motor vehicles at the same time.

yes, not surprising at all. Hooton has direct links to Chester, Liverpool and Ellesmere Port. Bache has a huge hospital on its doorstep as well as a large supermarket.Ellesmere Port is currently at a dead end to all intents and purposes

Pity Ledsham station can't be rebuilt, it would take a bit of pressure off Hooton if some car parking could be provided. There are big new estates nearby and I am sure there would be demand for both Chester and Liverpool services

you never know, Ellesmere Port station might be used more once the derelict Station pub is demolished and the proposed flats are built there, but I agree, the vast car park at Hooton draws in commuters who would otherwise have used EP, Overpool,or Little Sutton were it not for the fares...

You are right, but with programmes like homes under the hammer going on about postcodes all the time, they are being used by estate agents to bump up house prices. By the way is Skem in West Lancs, and if so how will this affect their joining up with Merseyrail?

I think postcodes also play a big part nowadays, especially relating to house prices. Ellesmere Port used to have an L postcode.. now it's CH and they are delighted... not that that would necessarily change however.

Does anyone know why the former rail bridge over the river Tyne at Scotswood in the west end of Newcastle remains locked up and inaccessible? It would make a great addition to the cycle routes in the area if nothing else. Who owns it, and have Sustrans a role here?
