    EC onboard map

Wrt the questions about tracking the train via the departure boards across its entire journey, I've had an email from ATOC confirming that whilst it can be done through the LDBWS staff version, using the headcode, it can not be done via the public API - sorry :-)

    EC onboard map

There is a ldbws API, and I use it (with a license) on my other site (livetrains.co.uk) However, without knowing for sure which services the train is going to be stopping at, it is hard to identify the service for sure.

    EC onboard map

I am reasonably certain that the feed is from one train, independent of who is viewing it. The only way to get data from a specific train is to be on it. Of course I'd be very suprised if data from every EC train is not returned to some servers somewhere - however it is not currently...

    EC onboard map

Unfortunately, the URL I call is not train specific - or at least does not accept any train specific parameters. When on a train, since all traffic from connected onboard devices goes through the trains wifi gateway, I would guess the system is smart enough to return the data for that train...

    EC onboard map

The company that runs this service has exposed the real poisition of an arbitrarily chosen EC train. Whilst onboard, the map will show train location as before. When not, it will show the location of this random train :-)

    EC onboard map

Travelling on EC from Edinburgh to London, and very bored, I noticed the real-time position map on the wifi launch page. The map itself was just a google mashup, but was also awful. I've put together a nicer map at: http://bbarker.co.uk/eastCoast/ Now this will not actually work unless you...

    Live Departure Boards

There is currently an ORR investigation into what data NRE should make public via their public API, as there seems to be some ongoing uncertainty as to exactly who owns the data, and how free "or otherwise") it should be to developers of websites and apps. My page does have a license...

    Question about NRE LDB API

Hi, Sorry for the number of acronyms in the post title! I've been using the NRE live departure boards (LDB) API for a while now (liveTrains.co.uk) Understandably I guess, given the name of the API, it is very much based around station-centric data. So for example I can run a query on...
