    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

Why are they replacing Stanstead Express 4 car 379s with 12 car 745s?? Do they really need to triple their capacity?

Suggestions for future use of Class 332s post-HEx

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but what about fitting TPWS equipment to them and using them alongside Northern 333s or sending them to somewhere on the network to replace some older EMUs? How about fitting them with third rail and shortening them to replace some older southeastern...

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

Are the 769s "temporary" until new rolling stock is delivered (the CAF trains I am suggesting) or are they intended to be used long term?

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

Sorry, :D, was not aware of that!

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

Are you referring to this article https://www.railmagazine.com/news/network/bombardier-bi-mode-aventra-to-feature-battery-power or do you have any other evidence?

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

No bi-mode Bombardier Aventras have been made!

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

I was assuming bolting shoegear to a CAF Civity (or Stadler FLIRT) would be relatively easy. The reason why is suggested having the bi-mode trains capable of running on Pantograph, Diesel or third rail is because I was suggesting replacing the GWR 769s, which also are going to be running on...

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

I don't think GWR should order new diesel-mechanical trains, I was suggesting diesel-electric, bi-mode (+ 750v dc 3rd rail), and electric (25kv only)... About what you said about Stadler, the FLIRTs already ordered and coming into service with GA only have one door per carriage (and it's offset...

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

Yes but as I said the 345s do not go to Didcot Parkway/Newbury...

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

We don't have working BEMUs yet. Would be nice, but with your suggested diesel engines, it would take many years for a working train to enter the market.

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

I don't think they're covered by the 345s cos ElizaPurpCrossRail doesn't go to Didcot Parkway and Newbury and Reading – Newbury which the GWR 387s are currently running on but you are right that they're may be more lines electrified so they need bi-modes but i did originally suggest that.

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

I don't think the 769s will ever be able to be long term rolling stock... they are a "stopgap" until a brand new fleet of trains are introduced with could take like 3 years... At least thats what TFWrail is using them as. They were gonna recycle the 319s anyway so it made sense to use them for...

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

I never suggested replacing the 387s, they are losing 12 387s to Heathrow Express service so i suggest only a small fleet of 4 car electric civities to replace those

My suggestion for new GWR trains...

So I've had this idea for a while to replace some GWR trains with new stock... Please can someone tell me if it works? These new trains would be of the CAF Civity family and all look the same... I envision that they would ALL look similar to the northern 195s and 331s. I envision that they...

Should Class 800 be ordered for the Cross Country franchise?

What did you think about what i said about the Grand Central fleet?

Should Class 800 be ordered for the Cross Country franchise?

Does anyone agree that about 65 British Rail Class 802s (to replace all of XC's 22x trains) and heavily refurbishing XC's 170 fleet would be the best solution? What to do with all the 22x trains? Cascade them to GWR to replace the 4 car HSTs ("castle class") Cascade them to ScotRail to...

Should Class 800 be ordered for the Cross Country franchise?

I don't think the coventry to leamington line needs to be double track, to allow for class 802s, does it?

Should Class 800 be ordered for the Cross Country franchise?

Should Class 800 be ordered for the Cross Country franchise?

What about the XC HSTs? Even if the 22Xs don't need immediate replacement the Intercity 125s will need replacement in a couple of years... What do you suggest to replace those trains?
