Which year will the UK go cashless?

I didn't know that, thanks, but they won't do it under the NHS, private only! Shocking!

    (more) antisocial behaviour on trains

I'm a little bit apprehensive to confront people, after personal experiences on buses in Dundee. One just doesn't know what they have inside there jacket or they are so thick that they can't respond in a courteous way and become hysterical and start screaming/shouting in an aggressive way. Good...

Which year will the UK go cashless?

Really! I've not had one for a good few years now, way before covid. I don't think my wife paid that much though, maybe because we are in Scotland. They were wanting over £500 for a crown, no chance I'm paying that.

    (more) antisocial behaviour on trains

Good one! Pity you couldn't sign him up for bound copies of Encyclopedia Britannica! (showing my age here) :) :) 1720459255 Also, we were in China in April, travelling from Beijing to Xi'an and some other shorter journeys. There were police on each train, no trouble, the loudest noise were...

    (more) antisocial behaviour on trains

Do you work on the railway? I could imagine the response I would get if I said that, such as, I can do what I want, f..k off! Society is shocking nowadays, no respect for others!

    (more) antisocial behaviour on trains

That's great, but would they care/how could you enforce this? :)

Which year will the UK go cashless?

Not really, they only do x-ray, occasional fillings and clean and polish on NHS. Everything else is private, so may take cards for that!

Which year will the UK go cashless?

Interestingly enough, there are quite a few restaurants in Dundee, and my dentist won't take credit/debit cards and are cash only! So I guess it will be a while!

    (more) antisocial behaviour on trains

It's because they don't care. It's all about them. They think the are entitled to do anything they want and don't care about other people!

Scotrail omitting other operators' services from timetables

I have never bleated or otherwise about not having a smartphone. I choose not to have one and can function perfectly well without it. From what I see of people using smartphones is mostly anti-social behaviour especially on public transport! Their behaviour is appalling, but maybe this is...

Scotrail omitting other operators' services from timetables

I've really taken offence at this statement. What happens if you don't have or need to have a smartphone? I don't have one because I have no need for it. Do you expect me to pay say £20 per month for phone rental for something that I don't need so that I can look at a railway timetable. I don't...

    Snake, China. Tasted great!

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Out of interest were any of them American? It's my view that they want to take over the whole of the English language and call it here own! They just invent alternatives and then it's not English any more, it's American. I'm really in despair, the English language is falling apart! Over-run by...

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

People who use the word space. A green space, er... it's a park, a blue space, that's the sea, a sleeping space, well that's a bedroom. What is wrong with them! This is sooooo irritating!

    Do trains have a clutch?

Didn't know that a fluid coupling and a torque converter could be used together. The experience I have is not on the railway, it's either been a fluid coupling or torque converter connected to the prime mover depending on the application.

There isn't a clutch, probably a fluid coupling or torque converter. you can get loads of info/pix on this if you do a google search. Hope this helps 8-)

Recover camera photos after SD card crash?

You can also try testdisk: https://testdisk.en.softonic.com/ The only time I have not been able to recover lost files with this program is when the disk read/write head has been damaged. This shouldn't apply to you as you've got an sd card. If this doesn't work I don't know what else to try!

Recover camera photos after SD card crash?

Sorry here is the link to the software: https://photorec.en.softonic.com/

Recover camera photos after SD card crash?

Do a search for photorec, it's free software and runs on a pc. I have used this many times on Linux OS to retrieve deleted photos/files, even if the disk has been reformated. You should be able to get all your photos back.
