Did BR plan to electrify any further routes before privatisation stopped them?

BR, or its government masters, was capable of stopping planned electrification long before privatisation was ever thought of. Blackpool was certainly intended to be included in the WCML Crewe to Glasgow project. I think other branches/feeder lines also, though I can’t remember which.

    Northern Ticket Machine Update Issues

Indeed. Or if that isn't possible, at least group the different options together by destination.

    Regions of British Railways

The early years of the LMS were characterised by ex LNW and Midland factions jockeying for control. Lord Stamp put a stop to this by establishing an all-powerful Head Office. The LNE constituents were used to collaborating so didn't require such centralised control.

Trivia: How many different classes in one station in a day?

How about the Hudds stoppers? I presume they will still be 185s. And I don’t think all the Middlesbrough ones are going to be 68s.

Recent Transpennine Express problems: What's going on?

2M62 HUD-MAN stopper cancelled again this morning: “fault on this train” (National Rail app) / “late arrival of an inbound service” (RTT). The 185s seem to be a lot less reliable than the Northern Pacers they’ve replaced!
