I could not recall any issues on WCML from the time, but I thought I may have missed them, or the media wasn’t overly interested in the railway alongside the rest of the incident.

Thanks Yorkie.
Most will recall the Buncefield fire and explosion in December 2005. Where there any impacts on the WCML, or was it far enough away from any danger of damage? I imagine there were some delays?

Delays at Euston. “ Incident” at Bushey, according to the screens. I hope it’s not serious. I an at Euston now. It seems like things are working ok. Although it is a bit crowded.

I've argued for further electrification of freight routes or at least those routes with extensive freight operations. This has to be the way forward as the railway has to gain credibility for being a 'greener' way to travel. of course, not all and deisel or hybrid engines will still be needed...

Always use Traksy at Euston. Did this in July getting a Wolverhampton train. Knew the op number and saw it at the platform. Sauntered down 20 mins before platform was announced and got my seat ( not the Eltonesque double one.).
My thread about the problems with XC at Leeds, today, encapsulate these thoughts and fears. 4 car Voyager from Edinburgh to Birmingham NS. It was going on to Plymouth. Earlier cancelled service meant this train was packed to the rafters. People in the bike racks. For £40 plus?
Waiting for next...
