Trivia: What are the quirkiest railway stations in Britain?

What about Heysham. Limited service and next to ferry port. Not much else there

    Harrogate line cancellations

No if anything I'd suggest increasing the frequency between leeds and harrogate. Ideally to every 20 mins but I think you would still need some form of cross harrogate service.

    Harrogate line cancellations

I think for me the question is does it need to be a leeds to york via harrogate line? Would it be more reliable and bring in more passengers and revenue if you went back to how it used to be and having one unit turn round at knaresborough , or even having the train from York only going as far...

First West Yorkshire & York discussion

Yeah can see the punctuality severely affected as delays on kirkstall road and Rawdon road transfer onto 27 and from headingley affecting 33.

Why do some people get frustrated when their ticket doesn't get checked when travelling by train?

For me it's the fare evasion. You often hear people on trains to leeds saying I will just buy one b4 barrier and say I got on at the last stop. It's why fares are so high

Didn't we have them in leeds a while back. They only used stand 1 in the bus station to unload and then loaded as normal at usual stand. Think they then started unloading on new york street as metro banned them from bus station

    Transdev Blazefield

They did divert away from Roundhay Road via both Chapeltown Road or York Road. It seemed to vary by journey and day.

So first are introducing some extra 72's between leeds and Bradford. Lots of press as it will mean a 24 hr service.

    Trivia: Short Lived Bus Routes

There was a rural bus grant service back in, I think, 2004. In the Otley area they served places like East Carlton and Askwith.

    Trivia: Short Lived Bus Routes

The first leeds extension was a tendered service between batley & morley that they won and tacted onto an existing service. I know arriva had it at one point too and station coaches have it now

    Leeds station improvement updates

With the work out front at the moment and the exposed old arches for the goit it would be amazing if they could be incorporated into the design

How many platforms does Bradford FS need & alternative idea.

Wasn't there a suggestion at some point of these services travelling through rather than reversing at leeds and using hambleton curve to join ecml. This does mean missing out Wakefield though

Operating company staff presence at bus stations

First leeds had park n ride supervisors based at elland road, temple green and Stourton. They made them redundant earlier this year and replaced them with a first customer adviser who now basically just sells tickets.

    TfGM Bus franchising

Leeds now has 2 number 7's transdevs service to Harrogate via Wetherby and firsts service to primley park. They even both served same stop on new briggate at one point. I heard this caused all sorts of issues

    Bus stations - new plans/closures/redevelopment

Pudsey has to be one of the oddest ones. It was built in 2010 for £3.25m and has 6 stands around a circular central island, whereas West Yorkshire PTE tends to prefer drive in/ reverse out stations.

    Pride buses in the UK

I wouldn't say excluded but I've had some really uncomfortable journeys due to homophobes on a bus - some of the vile things they were spouting. The problem is no one backs you up if you say anything. I've got off and waited for another bus before now
