No if anything I'd suggest increasing the frequency between leeds and harrogate. Ideally to every 20 mins but I think you would still need some form of cross harrogate service.
I think for me the question is does it need to be a leeds to york via harrogate line?
Would it be more reliable and bring in more passengers and revenue if you went back to how it used to be and having one unit turn round at knaresborough , or even having the train from York only going as far...
For me it's the fare evasion. You often hear people on trains to leeds saying I will just buy one b4 barrier and say I got on at the last stop. It's why fares are so high
Didn't we have them in leeds a while back. They only used stand 1 in the bus station to unload and then loaded as normal at usual stand. Think they then started unloading on new york street as metro banned them from bus station
The first leeds extension was a tendered service between batley & morley that they won and tacted onto an existing service. I know arriva had it at one point too and station coaches have it now
Wasn't there a suggestion at some point of these services travelling through rather than reversing at leeds and using hambleton curve to join ecml. This does mean missing out Wakefield though
First leeds had park n ride supervisors based at elland road, temple green and Stourton. They made them redundant earlier this year and replaced them with a first customer adviser who now basically just sells tickets.
Leeds now has 2 number 7's transdevs service to Harrogate via Wetherby and firsts service to primley park. They even both served same stop on new briggate at one point. I heard this caused all sorts of issues
Pudsey has to be one of the oddest ones. It was built in 2010 for £3.25m and has 6 stands around a circular central island, whereas West Yorkshire PTE tends to prefer drive in/ reverse out stations.
I wouldn't say excluded but I've had some really uncomfortable journeys due to homophobes on a bus - some of the vile things they were spouting. The problem is no one backs you up if you say anything. I've got off and waited for another bus before now
Possible changes in full, according to the leaked plans (reported on West Leeds Dispatch website
