Sea Mills was a perfect opportunity to do this. Quiet station on a branch line with only altering a couple of signs and not many people who'd end up confused however I can see why a large station was chosen over a suburb of Bristol.
Living in Greater Manchester, I'm used to politicians talking about Transpennine Express and Northern frequently especially as part of Levelling up the North, in particular Andy Burnham and Steve Rotherham.
Do politicians in Birmingham regularly talk about CrossCountry given Birmingham is the...
Land/take off from Barra Airport.
Visit the microstates in the EU - Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein and Vatican City. Already been to Luxembourg.
My plan is a Monday 0850 flight Aberdeen to Kirkwall and overnight there then:
Tuesday 1140 flight to Sumburgh and sightsee in the afternoon until the 1900 sailing back to Aberdeen
OR
One extra day in Orkney and a flight on Wednesday 0810 to Sumburgh, spending the day sightseeing until the 17.30...
Hi,
I want to go to/from Aberdeen at Easter. I've no railcards. I've had a look at Advance prices for next month as I couldn't see tickets in April available yet so I'm basing my best current price on a £40 Advance going and £80 Advance returning later in the week.
Is there any tips for a...
On Shetland, I'd like to see St Ninians Beach, Lerwick, Scalloway and ****t.
I presume the Airport to Lerwick has a bus timed with the plane or hopefully a regular service that may call at Bigton for St Ninians beach along the way. If not, I don't mind paying a bit for a taxi.
Orkney seems to...
Having had a good look at Loganair and Northlink Timetables for Easter instead of February, my plan is to stay at a hotel somewhere in between Aberdeen Harbour and Aberdeen (Dyce) Airport and fly one way and sail the other or vice versa.
Searching this forum for stations mentioned in the main section and Fares & Ticketing sections since 1 Jan and saw that Brithdir was mentioned once.
Can anyone find other stations with one or even zero mention this year?
Be interesting to know what, if anything, links these.
Thanks for that about Preston. Annoyed with myself for mixing up the Lowlander and Highlander calling points.
Is the North Sea route calmer than the rather choppy Scilly Ferry I went on last year where half the passengers threw up all around me?
I'm planning a getaway to Shetland in the February half-term, inspired by the BBC crime drama series.
I'm probably going to fly from Edinburgh Airport and stay for one or two days. Getting to Aberdeen and then the ferry is too long for me and there seems to be no flights from...
Staff would still get a day off if Sunday was included in the working week and you can get things done on the other day off that you might not be able to on Sunday. There's bigger hills to die on than this old-fashioned view of Sundays.
Ardwick is worth a visit for being so completely unloved compared to the station you can see ahead - Manchester Picadilly. See also Bordesley in Birmingham.
Middlewood is one of few stations that perfectly describe itself unlike Flowery Field.
Headbolt Lane and Ormskirk are double termini...
