ScotRail HST Introduction - Updates & Discussion

I think the Inter7city branding shown in the link below is what the poster was referring to, which I think is relatively new (certainly don't recall seeing it when I last passed through a few weeks ago). https://twitter.com/AlexHynes/status/1407726670891606019/photo/1

Ayrshire Railway Investment - Next 20 years

All of these schemes (and loads more) are in a long list of schemes to be appraised as part of the Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR)2. The appraisal will whittle down the long list to a much shorter list of schemes that best meet the STPR2 objectives. The entire long list can be found...

The proposal is part of the Scottish Green Party's 'Rail for All' report, which can be read in full in the link below. The summary states It's worth reading and perhaps warrants a dedicated thread, or this thread retitled to discuss the report. https://greens.scot/sites/default/files/Rail...

Leith to Kirkcaldy Forth rail tunnel: what do you think of this idea? is it feasible and how could the idea be improved?

This would be number one in my 'fantasy list of Scottish rail projects if money was no object', given the improvements in journey times it would bring between Edinburgh <> Kirkcaldy and eastern Fife/Perth/Dundee/Inverness/Aberdeen. Unfortunately money is a very real object but it's interesting...

    December 2020 Timetable Change

I noticed a difference on the Falkirk High route - there are currently 15 minutes between successive services in the weekday morning and evening peaks and 30 minutes during the rest of the day. From the timetable change, the service reduces to every 30 minutes all day.

    Scottish HLOS for CP6 (2019-24)

Would there be any possibility of some end-to-end E-G demand being catered for by a fast(ish) service routeing to and from Central via Shotts? I appreciate it couldn't be as quick a journey as via Falkirk High, but with the growth of employment around Central (e.g.Barclays on the southern side...

    Scotrail Class 385 Discussion

I noticed a door issue with a 385 at Haymarket today (the 1015 from Waverley). As per normal, the doors opened to allow passengers to board and alight. However, some doors didn't open if there was no passenger wishing to board or alight through them (presumably also as per normal) but then the...
