as it happens it looks like my plans are going to change and I’m now going to be travelling from Blackburn to London on Sunday 21st. Any advice on whether I’ll be able to traverse that line en route? I’m guessing Grand Central are my best bet. Do they accept safeguarded staff boxes?
Thank you.
actually I think I traversed it in 2012 in the opposite direction, as I caught an early evening train Grand Central train from Doncaster to Halifax so presumably that would have traversed it.
Hi. Just looking for advice about how to clear this bit of track. Preferably on a Monday, as that’s when I’ll be travelling from Horsforth to Chelmsford and I’m looking to clear some line en route.
Did the Bromley North trains down and up on Sunday so that would have done a small bit of track and at least one crossover I’ve never done before. Didn’t need to update my Baker Atlas as they aren’t shown in there.
I rode the 1212 from Cannon Street and the 1945 back. Both trains were worked by 465174. There were very few people on them. the ticket office at BMN was open during the day. I wonder if that was a regular BMN to clerk doing RDW or maybe someone who normally works at BMS.
Dreamt last night that a new line was constructed under the Thames Estuary running SE-NW, that linked the North Kent line presumably somewhere near Whitstable or Faversham with the LTS line presumably somewhere near Benfleet or Pitsea. I woke up thinking what a great idea. Direct trains from...
First Essex have altered the diagrams recently resulting in the 2300 X30 Stansted Airport to Southend being operated by a E200 MMC instead of a double decker which the 2305 always was. This has resulted in this bus leaving Stansted Airport rammed with some people having to stand all the way to...
I guess you’re possibly right. Although I have been there I am not familiar with Beckenham Road so I don’t know how congested it gets. It does seem a shame though as the Bromley North line does seem wasted just shuttling to Grove Park and back.
Yes, it has been discussed on here. The consensus seemed to be that it could be extended from Beckenham Junction past Shortlands station then up Beckenham Lane To Bromley town centre. It is uphill but a tram could handle it. The incline is similar to that in Rochdale between the tram...
