I think the Gatwick Express on the 442s was always DOO, so they are not really doing away with guards...they never had them in the first place.

Yes, rather annoying. I travelled from Perth to Edinburgh to pick up the service. The boards at Edinburgh said 'engineering works' but on the bus they said it was a crew shortage. I ended up losing over two hours of sleep which kind of devalues the point of the service.

I'm at n the sleeper at the moment from Euston to Perth. Think we may be delayed, we left an hour late due to a faulty compressor and the train just juddered to a halt so not sure what's going on. The staff are being lovely however! :)
