General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Labour hold Southampton Test. With that, the Tories can no longer form a majority without going into coalition. I wonder how Theresa's resignation speech is coming along. Looking forward to hearing it.

It's not all over yet. Conservatives gain Stoke South.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Labour gain Enfield Southgate and Keighly. Amber Rudd sadly narrowly retains Hastings and Rye.

Brighton Kemptown goes red - and with a convincing majority.

Should The Circle Line Now Be Considered A Branch Of The Hammersmith & City

No benefit really. Two separate services. Someone at Moorgate will know that a Circle Line train takes them round to Tower Hill and beyond whilst an H&C would take them towards Barking. The fact that Weatbound pax can take one of two services to the same destination is not an issue. AFAIC...

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Plymouth Sutton swings to Labour. With a comfortable 6k majority. And Labour gain Colne Valley too.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

:( Still SNP on 33 seats. That's more than the 32 currently predicted by the BBC. So not as dire as was thought perhaps?

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

SNP not completely dead in any of their loss seats though. Still very much in contention for 2022. (Or October). If they lost the very marginal seats due to a poor turnout then those are easily regained. Not a disaster then. The SNP surge of 2015 was always going to be temporary. The fact that...

    Labour gain Lincoln.

Just seen that Nigel Farage is pondering a comeback. The man really does have a Messiah complex doesn't he?

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Depressing. My brother will be livid. Tories about to overtake Labour - inevitably so.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

    Labour win Weaver Vale.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Rhondda stays Labour. Plaid leader Leanne Wood was considering contesting here - may be glad she didn't (although perhaps the voters would have fallen in love with her accent?). No surprise there. Vulnerable anyway, made worse by the furore surrounding the previous candidate.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

That is a shock. In some senses it's historically been one of the safest seats for Labour. But it swung hugely to SNP last time. That's a bad loss. :( Still, I'll take a loss to Labour better than a loss to Conservative.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Labour gain Portsmouth South. I'll be furious if Scottish Tory gains save TM's arse.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Eep! Too close for comfort, but a majority is a majority. Theresa May holds Maidenhead - again please contain your surprise. SNP hold Glasgow NW. Tories make a gain from Labour somewhere I just saw?

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Nice win for Labour in Peterborough.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Good result here. It should mitigate some of the losses. Such as Ayr. Ayr has gone blue :( And Kirkcaldy (formerly Gordon Brown's seat) back to Labour.

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

Again - is this quite good for the SNP? Or at least less bad than expected?

General Election 2017: The Results and Aftermath

:( Glasgow North held though. Aberdeen South has gone blue. That's abysmal. Supports the demise of Salmond.
