I did have 1 horrendous bus driver on a trip from Swindon to Kemble, staff at the station were great, but the bus was from Bristol &, obviously thought he knew the route better than the directions given to him. This, however, was to prove wrong, a number of passengers offered to help direct...
This is going no where in the forseeable future, until the trains are refurbished. The trolley was a nice idea, food & drinks delivered to your seat, without thinking through the practicality of busy trains, people standing blocking the route, and the reduced offer as someone has to push it &...
Can't see this being a starter, need to be long enough to hold the 2x5 trains, as could run on this route. The only space is the car park side, if they remove the building to the South, however, this would take out most of the parking at the station. Would GWR want the inconvenience of very...
I've never had a problem, asked a train manager once if it was OK, he basically said he really didn't care as long as I didn't take someone else's seat.
I suspect it's one of those incidents that no one thought to stop, as no one considered anyone would deliberately buy 2 tickets for the same journey to save money
I'm on a train from PLY to SWI with no catering, due to staff shortages, the TM at PLY said those of us in 1st can make a claim for compensation, has anyone successfully done this?
The one from EXD just went to see what was available & put the trolley in coach L

Today I travelled from Plymouth to Swindon in first class on a direct service (circa 3 hours) & only saw the trolley once, just before Newton Abbot. Others in 1st who got on after were asking the train manager about this (who, did start handing out bottles of water). It was caused by too many...
Can't see any TOC wanting them, firstly their age & condition means it will cost to get them up to spec for a new TOC. Secondly, the one area they could do a job is to boost a limited rural service, but, they are electric & these areas aren't wired and, when they come to the end of their life...
Couple of questions on this:
How consistent are the drivers in stopping in exactly the same spot each time, in order to make sure they hit the spot each time
Will it work with a platform that has trains travelling in both directions (P3 at Swindon) - guess it will,
Could be 2 entries, Swindon New Town and subsequently Swindon
What's now Swindon used to be a number of villages (hamlet may be more accurate), it didn't exist as a single town until 1900.
Swindon New Town was created around the works where just about everyone was inside (a word with a totally...
