True! Though I take some comfort in the fact that the Help section is still very clear that you can use Uber Money for train tickets. In any event, I won't be adding any more money to my Uber Money balance for the time being.

    Uber ticketing

I was able to successfully buy a ticket using Uber Money and Uber Credits this morning. Similar to James H’s experience above (post 379), just before clicking Buy I went into payment options and manually re-enabled using Uber Balances (which keeps switching itself off). Back on the Buy screen...

I’m holding off buying any more gift cards for the time being, but I won’t get a chance to test until tomorrow. Hopefully this is a blip/bug that will pass.

    Uber ticketing

My commute this morning was charged to my credit card. I looked in the payment options and Use Uber Balances had been switched off, as Edvid reported in their update above. I will turn it back on before I click Buy tomorrow but am not optimistic based on Edvid’s report (but James’s report gives...

The Help section of the app still says Uber Money can be used for rail tickets:

Underground routes on Contactless from Welwyn North -> London terminals (MOG/KGX)

What about barcode/e-tickets to London Terminals? Any trouble at the LU dateline for these when transiting from King’s Cross to Moorgate?

I see. Well I agree that’s clearly not on.

    Uber ticketing

Is it sneaky? They have always marketed it as a special offer with an expiry date, even for the full 10% for Uber One subscribers. I’m grateful that they have always pushed the date back further and further (it’s now mid-Jan I think). If the offer ended and were not renewed I’d be disappointed...

Emergency exit handle activated, ECML, 4/11

I was extremely lucky and got a seat on what I think was the late running 1627 from Kings Cross to Welwyn North. From what I can see it was the only train stopping at Welwyn North or Knebworth for the next three hours or so. I felt bad for the throngs left on the platform at Finsbury Park. The...

Just to update, based on my feedback Tuck has updated its processes and now issues Gift Cards which go into your Uber Money balance. I've tested and this now works, so one to keep an eye on when Tuck has the highest cash back.

I don’t have it. I wonder if 25000 people have added already and that’s it?

    Dubious TrainPal adverts

I would put their promotion of the TrainPal Card purporting to offer 20% off all tickets in this category as well. When you actually click the Buy button it says coming soon. I will be surprised if it ever launches.

    Uber ticketing

Beware: I’ve just bought one through Tuck as a test - and it appears as an “Uber Business Voucher” rather than as Uber Money. It’s a separate payment type in your wallet and can only be used for rides, not train tickets. Have others had different experiences with Tuck?

    Uber ticketing

To follow up on this, I have bought an Uber gift card from Jam Donut (at 8% cash back) and can confirm that despite the disclaimer it was credited as Uber Money and I was able to use it to buy a rail ticket. So I suspect this disclaimer across many of the gift-card retailers is out of date.

    Special Offers Discussion

So I went to actually buy the 20%-off-for-a-year “TrainPal Card” this morning and was told it’s coming soon and to join the waiting list, despite the promotional banners suggesting it was available. It says “TrainPal Card is coming soon. We’re working hard to bring you 20% off every...

    Special Offers Discussion

And for those that commute into e.g. London three days a week and just want to beat the low-discount, inflexible flexi-season, this seems very attractive. I’m not clear what TrainPal’s angle is? It only seems to be marketed to people already using the app.

    Uber ticketing

The “important info” says it’s not valid for rail tickets. I wonder if that’s out of date info or if it’s a different kind of credit. Shame this is so complicated.

    Uber ticketing

I can also confirm this is working, for me at least. I bought a £150 Uber gift card in the Amazon sale for £135. This appeared as “Uber Money”. I have since used it successfully to buy two train tickets, which were paid for fully with Uber Money (plus some residual Uber Credit from earlier...
