Posting on behalf of a relation.
Relation leaving London at approx 3.30 AM on overnight train to Bedford and tapping in on Keycard.

If you have a season ticket on a Thsmeslink/GTR Keycard the rules say sternly that you must touch in and out every time or they will penalty fare you.

Turned up at Belfast Bus station to get a bus to Armagh.
First surprise. Its also the main railway station.
Second surprise, you have to buy your ticket from the ticket office, not the bus driver.
Third Surprise. On...

With CPI set to be about 10% in September, does the Railways Pension Scheme have an cap on annual increases of eg 5% or will railay pensions increase by the full CPI?
I can see consequences either way:
If there is a cap then pension gets whittled away by inflation.
If there isn't a cap...

Does the current plan of a new line from Manchester to somewhere near Slaithwaite and canning of Clayton to Leeds allow for rethink, where a future extension to Leeds loops further south and has a triangular junction somewhere near Kirkburton, with a high speed line to Sheffield?
Therefore...
HS2 Journey time London to Manchester Picc is 1h11.
Journey time from Manchester Picc to Leeds in Government report this week 33 minutes.
If there was a triangle at Piccadilly (ie a Piccadilly avoiding spur) the following journeys and times would be possible.
London, Old Oak Common...
Well thats the end of that. This will never see the light of day. Ludicrous gold plating for a service that wont be needed for decades, if ever. In what world will more than two an hour from Cambridge to Bletchley ever be needed, never mind 4.
Impacting ~90 houses in Bedford (which face...

I've reached the stage of doing online E Courses that I don't have to do.
Heaven knows what it is like for those stuck in a poky flat all day. At least I've got a garden and a model railway to fill leisure time, even the dog is getting bored though with the dark evenings.
Can anyone explain to me why the following can be done for only £26 million:
New Passing Loop at Brading with signalling.
"New" loop platform at Brading with new step free exit to road.
Lowering track/raising platforms at eight stations.
New electrical substation gear at three stations...

Just wait until external events cause interest rate rises. Then you will see some funding cuts of all sorts of things.
Could be six months, could be five years, but...
