Good use of these units and it’s great to see them carrying on until presumably mid Feb or early March at the latest. Would probably suggest folk who still want to bash a 455, do so before the end of Feb, March looks increasingly unlikely.
Fully get all that - just a personal preference for me. Never liked it in teak or LT maroon. I think it looks daft, IMO. A prototypical refresh livery wise would still draw in the crowds perhaps more so given how long it’s had its current guise for
How do I mean what? the 701 rollout will bite, or how do I mean there should be some 455s out?
455s may be old but it's a reliable bit of kit, despite being impressed with the 701s so far, for some reason because the latter part of the rollout has felt so rushed and politically driven, I get...
No but there should be, whatever broke down earlier on the slow lines has absolutely wrecked the afternoon services out of Waterloo. I have a horrible feeling the 701 rollout is going to come back to bite on more than a few occasions.
None today, but keep an eye out during the week. Next Sunday may see another 455 related Shuttle service as it's probably preferable to use up mileage on a rust bucket. The Sunday Chessington shuttle being 455 was a good idea!

SWT 455 workings to continue as below:
Three eight-coach workings are diagrammed Monday to Friday from 15 December until 5 February, but substitution by other types of unit is possible. Units...
You’ve done an absolutely superb job so no apologies needed. The information has helped on many a time for folk wishing to catch a certain unit in real time.
I think we’ve all had more time than we initially expected to ride these workhorses one final time, time to see them off in style...
Noticed that. A few passengers will rightly be asking why they’ve been subjected to filthy trains for the past 2 years. SWR can clean when they want to it seems after all. SWT always turned out great units almost all the time.
Has it now been officially confirmed that no units are being slapped into heritage livery for the tour? That’ll probably sway it for me whether to bother getting up to Haslemere on Sunday. I’ve been on these old workhorses enough over the years; one last thrash in those god awful SWT swoosh...
I thought about this possibility and I don’t think it would look all that. You kinda want the upsweeps liveries of NSE and Stagecoach at the unit ends if so. One whole train side NSE and one side B/G or Stagecoach would be nice
It’s just purely a hunch. I personally haven’t heard anything it just seems odd to have 3 units there for so long at what is essentially a paint shop too!
Fingers crossed though, would be lovely! And if one was granted two wishes, one in stagecoach too!
