    Worcestershire Parkway station progress

Without wanting to drag this off topic, I have to agree, with the last service departing at 22.01, whereas there used to be a 23:45 Swansea train with a waiting connection at Swindon to get into Chelters just after 02:00 - and long before that the 01:25 newspapers, although that would only get...

    Worcestershire Parkway station progress

But, I would guess, little demand for those connections, looking at other forms of public transport - Moreton in Marsh is served by a handful of Pulham's buses, Oxford by just three Swanbrook services a day, these all departing from the centre of town, while National Express don't have a service...

Revenue protection on St Ives Branch

Likewise, the last time I used it, in 2017, there were two staff collecting and checking tickets on leaving the train at St Ives.

Petition to bring back the buffet on GWR

Wouldn't be any use for me, as I don't have a smartphone, or any mobile in fact...and before anyone says, yes, I know I'm in a minority...

Real Ales (including mass produced ones)

I suppose I'm being snobbish, but I preferred Doom Bar when it was a rarity anywhere north of Bristol...one of my favourites, sticking with Cornish beers, is Padstow May Day - failing that, I've had several good Tintagel Brewery ales and at £1.99 a pint in Spoons (St Ives and Newquay) as an...

Small stations that retained their freight sidings into the 70s-80s

Haven't been past there for a while now, but I think Kemble still has a short siding on the old Cirencester Town alignment?

What preserved railway extension would you most like to see?

So massive that I, like many others, will be a long time the wrong side of the daisies by then - I'd love it to happen though!

What preserved railway extension would you most like to see?

I'd agree that Honeybourne is a medium term aspiration at the moment, after the volunteer team have recovered from the fantastic effort to get the Broadway extension up and running. Whilst it would certainly be good, it must be remembered that apart from the obvious main line connection, there...

    Historic Question - Timetable for Didcot-Newbury (DN&SR)

Lovely idea, but doubtful - even prior to the decimation of the M&SWJR in 1958, the last passenger train from Cheltenham to Southampton was at 1.56pm, the 5.25 only went as far as Andover. This may interest...

    SVR to GCR 21/05

Thanks guys, funnily enough the answer came up on one of my local general groups - Class 47 hauling the stock, Class 46 and 50 hanging off the back! Photo courtesy of Stephen Emerson...

    SVR to GCR 21/05

Heard multiple horn blasts as something passed through Cheltenham at 09.40 today - looking at Realtime Trains, it appears to have been a diesel movement from Kiddy to Gloucester, and then back up and across to East Leake. Just out of curiosity, can some kind soul tell me what it was please?
