Just to report back on this. I have now been told that my refund has been agreed and will land next week. I emailed the sales support address and took the approach of full disclosure of the delay repay request. It wasn't mentioned in the subsequent exchange so either it was ignored or they...

I am trying to decide how to respond to a rejected delay repay from EMR and would be grateful for opinions. I was travelling on a super offpeak return from St Pancras to Loughborough. Due to a person being hit by a train north of Leicester , the train was held at Market Harborough. As my day...

What is the untold truth about Magnetic Ticket Strip Failure – Error 09?

In similar vein, a tip I followed was to use new plastic wallet, because the wallet gets dirty over a period. It made a big improvement , whether the reasoning was correct or it was just better luck I have no idea.

    Unrealistic Musing: "Coaster" Overnight Service

It feels like a complicated version of the old southern night mail trains which ran until the late 1980s , with a half coach passenger accommodation . Other than in exceptional circumstances there was plenty of room.

Passengers abandon train at Lewisham with 3rd rails still live.

Well clearly not no one, because I didn't find the message in your screenshot and found conflicting information in the afternoon. In the end I didn't travel, but that decision was not because of the quality of information I could find on SE trains. The sooner rather than later message was in...

Thanks, that is interesting, and I agree it supports what you say. However... I didn't take a screenshot of my information but I can assure you I didn't invent it. I was looking about 10-11 in the morning, when there was no information not to travel. The advice to travel sooner rather than...

Passengers abandon train at Lewisham with 3rd rails still live.

I kept a fairly close eye on the website and it most definitely was not the message. In mid to late afternoon the message - for the Sevenoaks and beyond services at least - was to travel as soon as possible, which with the benefit of hindsight turned out have been the worst possible outcome.
