From my observations they need to increase services and I'm sure the same applies in other areas and not just Glasgow.
Maybe someone can put me right but when an operator registers a service change does that mean they are barred for 4 months before registering again? If that is the case then...
I very much doubt the former SBG depots are in a fit state to convert to electric operation hence why no new buses have arrived.

If that is the case then why have the vast majority of the cascades from the main McGill's fleet been allocated to the Midland Bluebird depots?
Milngavie north west of Glasgow with a population of 12000 has First Glasgow 60A, Glasgow Citybus (West Coast Motors) 15 and Midland Bluebird (McGill's) X10.
Is it not McGill's intention for new orders to be electric buses only? That could be the reason why no orders for new buses have been announced and I would guess that the Midland depots were built 70-100 years ago during the era of Walter Alexander & Sons Ltd and are probably in no fit state to...
We all have different perceptions of things but to me the Volvo B7tls were some of rattliest buses going especially the ones with Wright Eclipse Gemini bodywork and they weren't exactly watertight neither. The ones in Plaxton President and Alexander ALX400 bodies were a bit better.
Strathclyde's Buses service 66 used to be a favourite for single deck demonstrators. Some notable examples I can think of arrived shortly after the Larkfield Depot fire in the early 90s were the 2 Scania N113/Plaxton Verde which eventually were purchased outright and the 5 DAF/Ikarus.
There was...
That old saying Swings and Roundabouts comes to mind. Not long ago First Glasgow received around 10 66-reg E400MMCs from First Edinburgh and in 2009 some 08-reg Volvo B9tls were transferred up from First South Yorkshire, all of which I believe are still in service.
Sounds like a generational thing as they didn't look like a well run company going back as far as SBG days and that was when their operational remit included East Dunbartonshire and much of Perthshire.

I thought they had the same style of interior specified on most First orders over...
For the best part of 30 years there's been 2 operators on the Wishaw to Shotts corridor which suggests there was reasonable income to be made. The only gap in the timeline was around 2009/10 when McKindless ceased trading at short notice but I can't remember how long it took for the company...
It was an amalgamation of the 51 and 38B and those great old Ailsa workhorses were normally seen on it as well as some ex Possil Metrobuses.

I remember the McGill's 38 many years ago as the Western 636, 637 and 638 then it was the Clydeside 36 and 38.
I haven't noticed trams bunching anywhere I've been although it's over 30 years since I was last in Amsterdam or Blackpool.
The point on having one door is a valid one but in the UK outwith London, which already caters for dual door operation, it would be costly to upgrade bus stop and bus...
The city centre road network makes this unfeasible.
My assumption is that these routes terminate in the city because they were amongst the worst offenders for timekeeping. The 41 cross-city to Drumchapel only lasted for 3 years in the late 90s/early 00s and traditionally has only operated...
