The downside to this,of course is that asthmatics will now be unable to use public transport as doctors strongly advise against the use of face coverings as it would prevent them from breathing properly.
I would be very surprised if it was just a shuttle between Bristol and Gloucester, which would just be a waste of rolling stock.
I would think it some would run to Worcester and at the other end maybe Taunton.
Very good news regarding Gloucester-Bristol, hopefully the extra train will have limited stops.
although i accept that leisure travel is unlikely to return in the foreseeable future.
I’ve noticed this more recently at Gloucester. Usually for platform one which is a few minutes walk from the concourse, they often play it about 5 minutes before the departure time.
I don’t know about services north of Birmingham but 4 cars between Plymouth and Bristol is nowhere near enough.
Over the last few years I have made about 15 journeys between Cheltenham and Devon/Cornwall, all between Friday’s and Monday’s, at various times of the year, not enough for a...
The Cheltenham to Paddington Route is one to be avoided between April and October, most Sunday’s in the last two summer’s had between 50 and 100 percent cancellations due to shortage of train crew and will be very unlikely to improve this year.

In the old timetable the equivalent 8:58 Cheltenham to Paddington was always a popular service probably largely due to the next service only running as far as Swindon.
Hopefully as people get...
The 8:58 Cheltenham to Paddington yesterday was cancelled between Cheltenham and Gloucester due to lack of train crew.
The 5 cars were full and standing on leaving Stroud.
When we were delayed for 40 minutes at Slough due to signalling problems the driver released the doors for passengers to...
Thanks all for the helpful replies.
I’ve now changed my travel date to Saturday although I’m now concerned about the possibility of over running engineering works at Paddington.
Changing the hotel booking was easy but I made the mistake of booking the train on the CrossCountry app. I assumed a...
This is wrong. I booked a super off peak return for travel this Saturday on the CrossCountry app. I wanted to change the booking to Sunday, went into the app and was informed the booking could not be changed and I would have to rebook and then cancel the original booking. I did this and then...
Looking for advice please, I am travelling from Gloucester to Canterbury this Sunday.
Assuming the usual cancellations due to shortage of train crew, on the Cheltenham to Paddington route, would the ticket be valid via Birmingham to Euston please?
My ticket is valid by any permitted route...
