    I had an idea the station was somewhere on the route between Beppu and Kumamoto (JR Kyushu).The clue narrowed it down although on Google Maps I couldn't see the Exit in the pic that has stairs down to (I assume) an under platform tunnel. But thought it would be worth a punt as the station is...

    Another Clue: The station includes a foot bath, a garden featuring cherry and maple trees, a shopping arcade, outdoor eating areas and an Art Installation.
