Yep, it is for EMR.
From the email they sent me it seems they start at the top and work their way down the list, but it says they consider factors such as time until assessments expire and interview scores. I get the impression that a new list is created for each recruitment drive, that...
I went through this last year. Stage 1 in March, assessment day in July, interview in September and Stage 2 in November. Finally getting the good news that I'm in the talent pool around mid November. It's a long process, but to be fair to HR, they kept me informed via email.
That's really poor from EMR, putting you through all the time and effort for nothing. I would hope that they pull out all the stops and get you on a course in time, even it means them offering you a job at a different depot. I've read that it's not unusual to get a date a few days before you...
It's good to hear that EMR make an effort to ensure that those in the talent pool get a job at the end of what is very long application process. Is there a chance that we might drop out the 2 years without a job offer, or is safe to assume that now we're in the pool we're pretty much...
I've had the same email today - disappointed :'(. I took my part 1 in spring 2019, so I'm not as close to falling off the 2 year limit as some, but having hyped myself up for a course in the near future it's disheartening to find out that it's not going to be anytime soon.
I put down Derby...
I don't want this to turn into a police pension thread - but it does have implications around future career choices. I've got 19 years in and have made the decision to go - I'm currently sat in the EMR talent pool waiting for a start date.
Our county's top fed rep told us last week that whole...
I've heard nothing since I got the 'congratulations you're in the talent pool' email back in November, I was only looking at it the other day and at the bottom it says that HR would keep in touch every 4-6 weeks. I am considering sending them a short email reminding them that I'm still here and...
Busyboy89 has got it spot on...
Make sure you know how you will deal with shift working, a bit about the company and why you want to be a driver. That sort of thing, but bear in mind that you don't have long to answer, so there's no thinking time.
Good luck!
Thanks for the heads up... I'm in the talent pool with Derby as my selected station. I've got just over a year before my part 1 expires, so no urgency in that respect, but I was hoping to get a start date around late spring or summer 2020.
I might give it until Easter and then email HR to see...
As Dynamonic posted on the previous page;
Stage 2 is an EMR run assessment day, normally composed of some group exercises and ‘speed’ interviews.
In my case it was morning at their office in Derby along with around 40 other hopefuls, several group exercises followed by the speed interview -...
Exactly as has been said, the Talent Pool is just a waiting room, not a job offer as there's still the medical and reference check to go. In my case, other than a few friends I've not mentioned it just in case I don't get the job. Until that employment contract us signed anything could go wrong...
I'm in the talent pool :D it's been a long process that I guess is designed to not only test capabilities, but also commitment...
Initial job application was towards the end of of 2018, finally got the email saying I've been accepted into the talent pool in mid November. Other than an email from...
I'm leaving after just shy of 19 years in the police, currently waiting in the depot driver talent pool. As previously said the wages and pension aren't bad, but not what they were (bear in mind we pay 13.3% into it each month), but it's the constant do more with less, politics, lack of support...
Wellington8584 - Sorry I missed your earlier post - gutted for you buddy... PM me and I'll give you a pointer or two around the MMI as we share the same background!!
