I’m guessing the SJT answers are all so realistic to what you’d do, that it makes it hard to distinguish what they’d deem as the best option haha!! Part 3 of the VSE not difficult?? Loads say it’s very hard and to prioritise the track and the shapes 2nd? This correct? good luck:)

Probably, doubt they will look that far into people’s OPC scores until after they’ve passed the VSE & SJT. This is just something they do to get the best of the group I suppose. I’ve applied to TOCs before with my OPC passed and still had to do their chosen entrance exams

I emailed the OPC and they said: If you fail the VSE then it wouldn't be that you fail all of the 'OPC' as it is not our process. Certain TOCs do not use the VSE and therefore a fail of the VSE won't affect your existing results of your OPC if going with them, however if you are asked to re-sit...

I think it just means the VSE is an extra exam used to whittle us down hence why it’s allowed to be done at home with no monitoring. It’s not one of the basic OPC exams - TEA-OCC, group Bourdon etc

Perfect thank you! I’ve never taken the VSE before and isn’t part of my current OPC pass so even if I fail it I’ve still got that to fall back on :)

Yeah I thought that was the case! Thank you! If I haven’t got enhanced passes for some of the exams that they want, no way am I chancing doing them again and failing because that’ll be my new OPC mark, a big fat fail haha :lol:

Question.....I have passed my OPC already (not sure at what level), but never done the VSE! So if I do the VSE and fail, does that override my current OPC pass? Don’t want to jeopardise my current OPC pass mark haha

Oh that’s amazing! Thank you for finding out rather than all of us asking the same question. I won’t wait that long but off on Friday for 5 days so will do it then at some point haha!

Yeah I got that email as well. I’ve done the OPC and plenty of SJT’s but never the VSE! It says practice first but then says “You will receive feedback on your results within 10 working days” from the date of the test deadline” when is the deadline? haha!

Don’t be disheartened. I think everyone was shocked when the job vacancies came up, especially with the way everything is at the minute. Remember your username!

Most of the time it’s a 5 year time frame from when you passed to when it runs out.

It’s exactly the same OPC exams but say one exam is out of 20 points, Pass rate 12, most TOCs may accept up to 16 as passed. But then enhanced want the ones who scored 17-20. Cream of the crop so to speak. Still a pass but just a higher pass mark.
