The most obvious ones to me would be saltney or airbus (with airbus providing a shuttle service around the massive complex for any of their 7000 workers).
Not that any of this will happen but the two most obvious station developments for Chester would be to re open Saltney or build a new parkway station on the Wrexham line by the existing park and ride and to serve the business park....
On a expedition to cross Scotland, coast to coast, by canoe this Easter we came across this hut on the middle of Rannoch Moor. Was tempted to sleep in it but it didn't quite meet my accommodation standards ....
the rail head into Quinn glass, Elton by Chester is on the cusp of opening although that may mean the railhead at Manisty Wharf, Ellesmere Port stops being used.
Is there a proposed route for the western link ? Looking at the map, if the route pretty much stayed within the boundary of the airport it could end up within 1km of the mid cheshire line near Mobberley station.
When driving eastbound on the m56 if you spin your head backwards at the right moment you get a fleeting glimpse of the developments - today it looked like they had got some new track down.
Similar question... Could Eurostar run trains direct from Paris to Manchester using HS1 then the WCML ?
Apart from the infrastructure at Manchester Piccadilly one would assume the economics for this would stack up.
I think tesco in helsby might get in the way of that. A fertiliser train chugging through baked goods and the nappy aisle get leave a few customers disgruntled.
Driving along m56 today noticed work is continuing apace --- heard a rumour both growhow and a peel holding ship canal development may end up using this line.
Any thoughts on a curve linking the the line at hawarden bridge to the north wales line thus providing west Wirral a train link into Chester.... No doubt it would cost a fortune but the A540 road is painfully slow.
Simple question... Do supermarket distribution centres which have a railhead realise a cost saving? Put another way ... Is it beneficial for supermarket distribution centres to have a railhead at their disposal ?
