Northern Unit Refurbishments and depot allocations.

My daily journey is only 30 minutes each way (usually on a 142, 150 or 153), so I'm not too fussed about the padding - as long as I can have an extra inch or so of leg room so I can actually get my knees in. :)

    Arriva Rail North DOO

I traveled from Selby to Leeds and back and last time with no problems. Usually I get a pre-7am Northern service which was unavailable so I got the TPE one that runs about 20 minutes later. It possibly a little busier than usual but not much. I came back on a pre-5pm Northern service, which was...

Leeds Station concourse and platform improvements

I can confirm that there was indeed wet paint in that area this morning. Going down the escalators in the south entrance was quite a fume filled experience.

Four ECML trains to travel side by side

Plenty of coverage on BBC Look North Yorkshire that day, so it might be worth looking on their Facebook page or iPlayer. New stations for Leeds

600ft is approx 200m :) Luton Airport's altitude is 160m, or 520ft if you prefer. It just doesn't have the steep drops to valleys nearby like Leeds does. They are however quite different in terms of passenger numbers and proximity of main roads.

Leeds Station concourse and platform improvements

Only some of the time in my experience. In the last week I think I've only seen the red glow on the scanner windows on two days. It's possible that the barrier staff are choosing to just let people through at peak time rather than having them stop to hold their phones or printed QR code...

Leeds Station concourse and platform improvements

I've got used to just waving my mobile phone at the barrier staff and they just let me through (at both the main and the south entrances). One more than one occasion it wasn't even showing the ticket, but Facebook or something else! One day the scanners will be working I guess...

Leeds Station concourse and platform improvements

Yes - the planning submission shows a future mezzanine level for retail and food outlets. Having somewhere (other than the pub) to sit down and eat has long been a thing customer surveys have shown people would like.
