Any eyes on the ground between Wells and Yeovil? What is working the 77? Looking at the timetable, there seems to be a lot of dead running in the morning and evening.

Well done! Still, well over seven years ago! I remember now, Taunton did it all as part of one big triangular interworking, in which it did 55 to Wells, 77 to Yeovil, and 54 back to Taunton. The 55 was eventually replaced with the 29, making the whole operation much longer, and so it was split.

Although it comes at the cost of other depots, Wells will soon have nearly all of its former routes back. I never really used the 377 (as it used to be) beyond Street (towards Yeovil), so where on the route is the demand for deckers? (Genuine question). Just thinking it could otherwise be a home...

69449-60 started life on the 8, but were deemed too large, and were very quickly moved off the 8 and onto the 70.

I like to think they've got a few years left. They're in reasonable condition as well.

Thank you for the very comperehensive run down! Been quite a busy weekend. I didn't realise that the 29/75 will mostly start in Glastonbury rather than Wells. So some dead running in the morning. That of course is what the 29 was until the late 90s.

I've been wondering about that for a while. I often notice buses in the coach station when I'm driving back to Bristol late at night, and I have a feeling they may well have stopped using the cold store. (From minimal observation).

Good question, and the answer, possibly is No. At its pre Metro bus height, it was, I think at one point, every 12 mins, although has mostly been every 15. It only takes sever congestion in either the northern or souther extreme and you have no service for an hour.

I'm only catching up on recent developments regarding Bridgwater depot, so this is news to me. I am a bit out of the loop these days, partly since Steve's brilliant website went, and I don't really use facebook, so am a little bit slow! That is sad to hear about another depot closing. I know it...

That's interesting about Wells. I suppose had the streetdecks not been taken off a few years ago, then they would likely have had new vehicles by now anyway, or at least be due. The 376 seems a reasonable candidate for electric buses. Whether that extends to 173/4 I guess we will find out.

It would seem likely that they are, as there is no real need for Discover anymore. (Not much left to discover). It has been speculated that the Bath depot fleet will all go Bath Blue, rather like Badgerline in Weston. That said I personally think they will keep the X39 buses in Aqua.
