I have done my medical, they’re doing final back ground checks and hopefully I will get an offer soon. I have been advised of a potential start date but it means nothing until I have the official offer.

Grab a magazine, pick a few paragraphs read them then get someone to quiz you on it. Similar principal. Even more handy if it’s something you have no prior knowledge of

Did they give you any indication of how it went afterwards?
It’s very difficult to know how you did, you may feel you’ve under performed, but they may really like you or like your answers.

I also spent two weeks learning lots of detail about wmt, Abellio etc, rolling stock and was asked nothing about any of it.
It was a very similar to the mmi, but a lot more questions. I’d guess between 20-30 questions. Quick fire questions though so I didn’t quite go into the depth of the mmi...

Would an email not be a better way to proceed? That way they can answer you when they get chance?
By calling them you look keen, but you could also catch them at the wrong time.

Your elated when you get through an assessment, an interview or a medical. Then it dawns on you, your now in for more waiting and more hoops to jump through.

I think they would be able to determine someone who is a heavy drinker, the doc told me the tests would show if I had taken any paracetamol in the previous 14 days.
They aren’t looking for teetotal applicants, but if someone was clearly over consuming I think they may get overlooked or advised...
