Edinburgh & the Lothians bus network speculations & ideas

Would struggle to fit anything down there and it's an absolute haven for anti-social behaviour so it would be asking for trouble, I would think.

Objection to appearing in a street photograph

Why not try the old 'okay I shall' and then continue snapping away? Don't have to delete anything, saves an argument and tends to flummox people as they only want that aforementioned argument. Worked for me a handful of times.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I saw 288 and 289 on tow, I was on a 1 as they went past. Maybe free up some space in Central for something new :)

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Just noticed bus 11 being dropped off outside Seafield works, couldn't stop for a photo. I'm sure a quick polish and it'll be back out in no time...

    Independent Operators in the Lothians

The Lochend-bound 13 is currently routed down Leith Walk, right along Duke St. and then right up Easter Rd. and then left onto St. Clair St. The working theory is it will run via Albert St. both ways when Scottish Water finish their works there, although this is actually up to Edinburgh...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I'll be happy to see the back of those 7900H buses especially 1>10. They're getting very tired, would be good to know the cause of this thermal incident. Glad also nobody was injured.

Edinburgh & the Lothians bus network speculations & ideas

I've always thought the 15 should run from the Bush turning right instead of left at the junction with Bush Loan Rd., then turn left and go out past Flotterstone on the A702 then left again at the roundabout onto Mauricewood Rd. Then onto Penicuik Town centre. Same route on return to Edinburgh...

    Scottish Citylink

Driven that a few times. Doesn't half shift but that's the only thing going for it. Absolutely embarrassing pulling up anywhere with it.

    Independent Operators in the Lothians

They do use fleet numbers, but they aren't particularly identified as such on the vehicle. The board that the keys hang on are numbered as such. I would speculate that the numbers may be allocated by eirebus, as there is some exchanging of vehicles between them and ECL.

    Scottish Citylink

I stay not too far from the Edinburgh Coach Lines garage. I think they've repainted most of their old Irizar Citylink Gold coaches, bar one. They've got an old Plaxton Elite that I referenced above. I would think the Panoramas belong to Park's or Stagecoach as I don't think ECL's workshop can...

    Scottish Citylink

From what I've gathered they cover a few 909s and the rest of the work for Citylink is some M92s. The rumour I've heard is its possibly a seasonal run, as opposed to an additional preexisting service. That's the scope of my knowledge thus far.

    Scottish Citylink

Rumourmilling: A friend of mine heard that Edinburgh Coachlines (ECL) has picked up/about to undertake a new route for Citylink. Would anyone know what it is? I'd be tempted to join ECL if it was something more 'exotic' than up and down to Aberdeen all day. That and the vintage charabanc they...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I was reading the Notices & Proceedings pdf from the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland and noticed Lothian submitted a variation on an existing service for the 15 to run between Penicuik Deanburn and Eastfield Terminus. Does the mean the route returns to Penicuik Deanburn or is the current...

    Bus Driver Shortages

Cheers and good luck with the interview! I do hope there is a shift in attitudes in the industry, as I actually enjoy the job mostly, but it needs to show more respect to those of us willing to do it.

    Bus Driver Shortages

Hopefully it's the beginning of changing attitudes. I remember being told by a staff manager that it was easier to recruit new staff than to accommodate someone's request to go P/T, although this was pre-covid and a ready supply of willing candidates to fill that space. The final straw was...

    Bus Driver Shortages

I left Lothian to do HGV work with an agency. Didn't particularly enjoy it as there is an attitude of 'we're paying you big bucks so we own you'. Didn't fancy grovelling at Lothian so I've signed up with First as they're offering part-time, which I think is almost revolutionary in the bus game...

Trying to find out what services run out of Overtown. Have searched the forum but haven't had much luck. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
