I have Looked on the NRE website regards to travelling on this line Via Manchester Piccadilly as I have only ever traveled from Chester to SPort via Liverpool with Merseyrail. I was wondering if this route could indeed be done at the weekend, pref Sunday with no change of trains on-route...
Apart from being very loud...can't say they bothered me much. I feel kind of
bad for having the temerity to ask the question I ask. I mean, it's a free
country, not everyone wants to sit on a train with 14 very loud drunk people
for nearly an hour when I have indeed been admonsihed by a...
Does anyone remember Funland across the road from the end of the lakeside minature railway? The railway still exists, and Funland was on the sit of the Mc'Donald's and it's car park.
I was on the Mid Cheshire Line heading towards Chester this afternoon and about a group of 6 males and 8 females were openly drinking various beers and spirits in mid afternoon. The guard did pass...around 5 times up and down the train and did nothing. I understand if there was a rule to uphold...
I used to (Many years ago) live in Stevenson street in Liverpool, bout 250 yards away from Wavertree Technology Park station. Maybe the person who named the street was inhibriated or something and meant to spell STEPHENSON!?
Last time they updated the viewers, He was in York and was having to wait
for the TPE to Manchester then MLink to Old Trafford.

I have the dubious pleasure of visiting Rock Ferry twice a week for family reasons and I am wondering of the significance of the mechanical digger on the railway bridge by what is the closed Tranmere station (Just down the road from the Lidl supermarket). I saw a train running as usual and...
I joined this group http://www.facebook.com/groups/101152796684234/ about
Little Sutton station on the Ellesmere Port line. The group is hoping to make people aware of the station and how it needs restoring. I mean, it isn't on falling apart but it needs things doing to it as MRail and NR...
Sorry Ivo, I indeed are responsible for the new "Famous persons on the railway" thread. Wasn't aware of previous threads and not in the mood to search for similar topics!
Who is the most famous person / persons have you encountered on trains or railway stations? Mine is England rugby union full back, Chester's own Ben Foden at...you guessed it, CHESTER!!! He was on a 508 from Liverpool that I was on.
I'm not a RU fan (I'm a league man), but I know what he looks...
£1 million on station improvments on Merseyrail? Could they spend some of the
money on the oft mentioned on this very forum, the footbridge at Hooton perhaps? And how does Cllr Mark Dowd reckon Merseyrail is one of the best
services in the country? I am a user of the service and have nothing...
Deffo Hale. I have used the station 5 times. Also pop trivia fans, Hale station was featured in the very 1st episode of 'Mount Pleasant' on Sky1 some months ago (Well, the Level crossing was).
I was in Cleethorpes the other day (Had a nice stroll on the prom, thanks) and past the station which has a good view of the sea. Got me thinking, how many stations are there that trains terminate that stop in view of the sea or such? I can thing of 2 from memory, Cleethorpes and Portsmouth...
