Will the number of rail enthusiasts decline in the coming years?

As others have said, it will remain as much as Bus, Car, Plane and other enthusiasts exist. Look at Big Jet TV during the storm, close to 150k people watching LIVE. These are incredible numbers. The exposure available will always attract new followers. I am mid 20s, and the only reason I have an...

    Southern Class 455 Withdrawal

Dedicated space on the TS coach, with single rack and straps if they haven't been torn off. It is also the wheelchair accessible space but there is plenty of room.

Great British Railways: Livery, branding and appearance?

You're right, it definitely is. Attempting to give off a sense of faux nationalistic pride, probably trying to cover up the fact the profits and dividends are still being lost to private shareholders abroad. Because that's such a major problem to some. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue if these...

Great British Railways: Livery, branding and appearance?

The name to me just sounds like another thinly veiled attempt to drum up some patriotic hurrahs. I find it unlikely that it will lead to mass rebrands because at the moment it would still be the TOCs that have to foot the costs for that, and simply the money is not there.

I'm confused as to where all the trains fit at night...

To my knowledge on Southern/Gatex, stabling can be done at many places - Depots - Selhurst Battersea SL Brighton LW Servicing Depots (cleaning + CET) - Streatham Hill Hove Outstations (most have sidings, some with ability to CET maybe?) - Bognor Littlehampton Caterham Tattenham Corner...

Map of all GB Stations that can be ticked off

Evening All I have been looking for a little while for a kind of map that I can use to tick off stations as I visit them, online. Maybe even attach a picture to them too. At the moment I use a spreadsheet but it is not so easy. Short of just editing one of the regular maps that are out there...

Older BR era rolling stock in London area

On Southern units 2 are fitted per unit on each driving trailer. Not sure if SWT still have their third one on the TOS or not? Southern had theirs removed decades ago. 1599581821

Older BR era rolling stock in London area

The best bit how every one just sounds a little bit different from the others, good old DH25 though! Base design nearly 100 years old.

    FIP Coupon Question

Hi, Question regarding FIP Coupons, I've hunted for the answer but can't find anything definitive. An example journey I'm looking at doing is Villach (AUT) to Zagreb, on a OBB operated IC. Would I need coupons for all 3 countries I travel through, plus reservation? As how I understand it...

    Inside King's Cross: CH5

It was good to see what the reactions were to the disruption and how much actually goes into dealing with it. For example I thought all the boards were automated but when the controller requested an extra 10 minutes delay on to the departure board for a service it proved me wrong.

Most ridiculous or inappropriate food you've seen being eaten on a train

At liverpool street there is a nearby fancy takeaway sushi place, which I wouldn't class as the best train food but does seem popular with some punters.

    Incident at Wandsworth Common 07/08/16

The lad involved was an enthusiast and fellow railway worker who was an ex colleague of mine. Out of respect for the family, I won't say anymore until there is further news.
