Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

To an extent but when jobs require WhatsApp. Certain gyms require a qr code to enter. Certain shops require a smartphone, such as Amazon Fresh in the uk, the modern world is ran by smartphones. It’s like saying it’s a choice to have electricity in your house.

It’s not that easy if your livelihood is on web apps

How long are bus stop shelters meant to last

I watch videos like this and come across old Bus shelters. The news usually promotes new bus shelters as modular but I think old ones, the ones from the 80's are modular as they seem to have had the glass changed, seats, maybe changed, and definitely added to them over time. 6:15 as an example...

UK Street design and street furniture, do you like how it’s changed over the years? Why? Why not?

Yeah I use the cycle lane on Harrow Road between Kensal Rise and Westbourne Park. I usually have to get out of the cycle lane at the parts where the cars are parked at the side and the cycle lane is in between the parked cars and main road as usually there is a car that wants to leave and some...

I'm noticing a lot of the close overtakes are at wide junctions in this video. Maybe the tightened corners on newer road designs are more cyclist friendly?

How long are bus stop shelters meant to last

Looks nice, reminds me of the Charles Holden stations a bit 1783355308 Makes me think trams were treated more like buses in the past. Well they did look more like buses or had similar capacity. Now they are almost like a light rail but much smaller.

Buses receiving damage after road remodelling

Why do you think they make turns sharper? Who does it benefit. I don’t drive.

Scratching skin I assume especially as it gets older and wears out maybe

Buses receiving damage after road remodelling

I don’t know the junction but why not rely more on safer traffic lights instead of a narrower road

I notice with Google maps that these bollards replaced the lighted ones https://startsafety.uk/cdn/shop/files/start-traffic-duraflex-traffic-keep-left-bollard-main.jpg?v=1722384237&width=1024 https://www.mallatite.co.uk/images/product/842/2/Central_trafficbollard02.jpg Watching an old video...

The digital door can be deadly in emergencies as they aren’t as intuitive, the manual controls, and electronics fail

Is anyone here interested in GTA VI

GTA IV had the best metro system. GTA V’s one sucks and SA’s one is unrealistic. I think SA’s one reminds me of the Lagos Red Line in Nigeria. 1783245550 I think the newer versions were more realistic but San Andreas had a strong vibe to it. IV as well though the lack of features for its...

How long are bus stop shelters meant to last

I was just looking at old footage of London bus route journeys, by old I just mean the late 90’s. I think the seats were retro fitted or changed in some London bus stop shelters of that era. Probably became mandatory because low floor buses meant they had to cater more to passengers with...

So is that South western branch of the Piccadilly line noticeably less busy now?

Is anyone here interested in GTA VI

I’m massively interested. I didn’t play the online version much tbh, more the story. However people have made careers off of the online version and it seems to allow for a lot of spontaneous play that some content creators still make money organising stuff like races or different games on GTA...

Yeah and the closed in look, lack of windows/glass.

Have you pre ordered? What are your expectations? I have pre ordered. I imagine the game might have in game subscriptions, that affect it characters back balance. Would be irritating but mimics real life. From the leaks, the cafe robbery felt like RDR 2.

How long are bus stop shelters meant to last

Wow it’s very small. Reminds new of a shed or something. 1783157741 The old ones look more like proper shelters whilst the modern ones look a bit more comfortable with benches, though I feel modern London bus stops look a bit less comfortable with more perched seats.

Yes s stock seems a bit more similar to 24 ts with small stuff too like the door type, the armrests.

Although the 2009 stock has the plastic casing. I’m assuming this doesn’t matter as much with led lights???
