    It's not the railway, it's a third party website. I've overheard staff telling customers who had purchased erroneously on the Trainline, that if they had bought their ticket from a TOC website or booking office, staff are duty bound to help them, but could not with third party providers...

    but contactless via Tfl is off peak if you tap in (where ever you start) before 0630. Presumably this will apply to all those outer London suburban stations now being fitted for contactless too.

    You can go from Wokingham to Alton by walking between North Camp and Ash Vale (as well as by train via Ash and Aldershot, which takes longer). One of the first waivers to the routing guide.

    since the 455s will go for scrap, any extension at the current leasing rate is better than nothing to the leasing company even for a short period. I can't imagine that either side would want to have the trouble of negotiating anything else.

    as did the 2SAPs used on Windsor/Weybridge services for some years. BILs (and later CORs) were used on the Reading (and Aldershot) line until replaced by CIGs and VEPs (all of which had toilets).

    Only 5 car routes were planned to be the likes of Ascot to Farnham and Guildford to Aldershot. Part of the issue with the cabs was that 2* 5 car had to be effectively identical to a 10 car in platform postioning.

    I'm pleased to say that the trial seems to have been stopped in that escalators have been going up and down at both ends (normally two up at the bank of 3) on recent visits later in the day.
