    TOC to FOC

See having done both, I couldn’t disagree with you more. I think a lot of this is depot/company dependant but at a TOC, for the most part, if you turn up and do your job you’re generally left alone. I can honestly say I was micro managed more when working for a freight company. Probably the only...

Deal proposed for Northern Conductors in the North West regarding Sunday working

I get the impression with a lot of people it’s less a case of not wanting to work on Sundays and more about not wanting to work overtime. If I worked at a company that had Wednesdays outside the working week, I wouldn’t want to work them either.

    Northern Still Using FAX Machines

I think a lot of the members of this forum seem to forget that the Train Driver grade is made up of a diverse range of people from a diverse range of backgrounds all with their own individual human autonomy. There might be a willingness to lap up the mainstream media’s labelling of us all as...

Policy Exchange propose to mostly remove route learning

Are you actually interested in learning more about a subject you clearly have very limited knowledge about or is this just a thinly veiled attempt to belittle Train Driving?

Policy Exchange propose to mostly remove route learning

End in sight for the ASLEF dispute: Offer now made
