Re the plug sockets they are installing would it not make sense for the TOCs to install this type. Who wants to carry around a plug with them most of it is going this way now.

if NR couldn’t provide a relief signalman that day and the guy in question starts shutting down the box regardless then Network Rail seem justified in their actions - whether it amounted to Gross Misconduct is another question, probably it did.

Unless the 165 /166s have a serious internal refurb I can’t see how these will be suitable for long distance. I’ve done PMH to Cardiff On a 158 that’s ok with catering but wow seems another crazy decision.

About time this happened on some routes between Friday and Sunday at the very least. Southern emailed me back in 2009 saying there would be later trains from Brighton on west coast way but it never happened. 10pm last train to Pompey is a joke !
