Regular weekly commute: Manchester to London, please help.

I wouldn't mind a slow journey if a lot cheaper. I work in the centre, near Angel. I don't think I'm eligible for any railcards. I'm 34 in full time employment, don't travel in groups etc. Would a network railcard help me in any way? Virgin generally release them 12 weeks in advance...
