At the end of the day that’s what it’s there for if you like it or not.
How would you suppose they recreate thinking on your feet during an interview? Definitely not by giving you the questions to an interview in advance?!
I’m really not sure any amount of planning is going to stop you feeling...
Is a great way to see if you can think and communicate clearly and precisely in a pressured and time critical situation.
It’s exactly what the role requires. Your right about it needing precision and accuracy but the high pay is for doing that under pressure with possibly very little time to think.
When they say final salary pension they mean it is worked out on your final salary not that when you retire you will keep getting payed what you were on when you finished. I imagine the TfW one will be worked out similar to ours. So for us it’s your final salary minus the state pension amount...
A lot of negativity from people. There are many people that wouldn’t touch a DM job even for £40k extra never mind £20k.
No payed over time, lots of hours, being on call, always at odds with drivers.
The Job the OP has posted would suit quite a few people looking to get away from the shifts and...
Yes people with fine colour vision may make mistakes as that’s human nature, but the person that can’t tell red from green/yellow will 100% have a mistake. I don’t care if they could distinguish between different types of infrared, if they can’t tell green/yellow/red apart then I’m not getting...
This is the first time they have introduced a video interview at this stage so nobody really knows what you will be asked. But at a guess it will be similar questions to the stuff in the DMI, although I imagine this will only be with HR as I can’t see the DM’s having enough time on there hands...
The grades have there own annual pay rises each negotiated for them by there unions. At least that’s how it is for drivers and guards. The really big rises are indeed normally in return for a change in T’s and C’s/productivity.
This is the second deadline I’ve been given by them even though I didn’t respond to the first one. First time round was exactly this time last year, they sent email saying if I was still interested I needed to reply to the email, if I didn’t then I would be removed from the talent pool list. I...
I don’t think he is saying put back to red on your next signal. He is asking about changing the following signal to red but at a time when it would change your already sighted green signal back to a yellow in front of you. At least that’s how I read the question.
You only get 2 goes at the tests as a whole, as far as there concerned if you can’t pass the whole process within 2 goes then your not what they are looking for.
They don’t want it made easier to get more passing, there not short of people that make it through.
Its not really inconsistent...

Cant see them pausing a course for a whole group if one person goes off sick/needs time off. The track and trace thing would be different because everyone in the group and the tutor would have to isolate if one of them got it so would be paused but could well end up being put to back of...
Has nobody else though about having the 2 weeks paternity leave during the classroom training? At my toc there is no extended time off aloud during the initial training (odd sick day is ok). Obviously they can’t deny you paternity test but if you are to miss 2 weeks training due to paternity the...
