    Any passengers without specific train tickets who are travelling to stations to Exeter could travel on the 17:35 service to Exeter St Davids which is formed of 4 coaches, but as you mention the situation is far from ideal for passengers travelling beyond Derby.

    According to CrossCountry Journey Check, the HST working 1V54 06:32 Dundee - Plymouth has developed a fault and will be terminated at Newton Abbot. Does anyone know if this is the same set that's been taken out of service at Bromsgrove recently?

    It certainly looks that way, as the 13:25 off Plymouth was reported in JourneyCheck as being formed of 4 carriages vice 8 carriages.
