Trainee train driver advert for Arriva Rail London now open

That's fair enough, everyone has different lifestyles and experiences. Funnily enough, I'd probably be ok if it was permanent nights. I have worked permanent nights in the distant past and got on ok with it, not keen on working a range of earlies/lates AND nights though.

Trainee train driver advert for Arriva Rail London now open

From a personal point of view, I would absolutely want to know before I signed a contract and handed in notice to my existing job. I currently work elsewhere on the railway in a role I'm happy with and is well paid (albeit not as well paid as ARL). Nights are very taxing mentally and the last...

Trainee train driver advert for Arriva Rail London now open

Maybe it's something for new starters? Either way, I'd very much appreciate you finding out as I'd probably withdraw my application if nights are compulsory. No point wasting my time and theirs.

Trainee train driver advert for Arriva Rail London now open

That's very useful to know, thank you. It makes the salary considerably less attractive that nights are inside the roster. Nowhere on the job advert does it state that nights are included. I think this is a bit underhanded. How many people will make it as far as DMI before finding this out and...

Trainee train driver advert for Arriva Rail London now open

Is anyone who is already at New Cross able to say if nights are part of the 'standard' rosters? Are nights on a separate roster? Or is it paid as overtime?

Trainee train driver advert for Arriva Rail London now open

Yes, I got a confirmation email: Thank you for your interest in ARL. You can log in to our careers website at any point to update your application information. For what it's worth, I had more luck getting CV uploaded with Firefox rather than Chrome.

    Arriva London trainee drivers

There aren't 'wrong' and 'right' answers. It's to build a picture of your personality type. You're either what they're looking for or you aren't. Forget about trying to fake your way through, you get found out eventually and will have wasted your time.

Yeah, pretty sure my entire application got lost on attempting to submit. Really looking forward to typing that all out again :-/ I was using Chrome, anyone have more luck with Firefox before I try again?

    DLR Passenger Service Agent

The tests are unique to DLR and won't in any way affect 'lives' on national register utilised by other TOCs. Getting a job with KAD to work on DLR requires a strong initial application with your CV and covering letter tailored to the particularly varied role of a PSA. (Hint: read the job...

    DLR Passenger Service Assistant (PSA)

DLR has it's own, separate rule book. Just as a DLR operator isn't qualified to work on national rail, the opposite is also true. DLR "PSA's' aren't train drivers in the sense most people think of, it's a very different role. Not one that many people are cut out for in all honesty! It...

    DLR Passenger Service Agent

I still haven't had a response either way, have checked my junk folder too. I'm in the same position as you regarding notice to current employer. If successful, I need to give 4 weeks notice. Hardly an extraordinary or unusual amount of notice to give, I'm utterly perplexed at their seeming...

Indeed. I find it odd they don't seem to be accounting for it. 4 weeks notice is hardly unusual.
