Will Labour scrap the £2 fare Cap? (now confirmed will rise to £3)

Exactly. There will probably be further savings to be had buying a monthly, 3 monthly or annual ticket. For those that can't afford the outlay employers (well mine does) have schemes to loan you the money for the cost of annual pass. Even if your employer doesn't the East Sussex credit union...

Are there many railway enthusiasts that have never been on a steam hauled train?

I don't have a particular nostalgia for them as before my time although my Uncle/Dad like them and have no passion for diesels. I do enjoy them from an engineering perspective as I have a fascination for lots of mechanical things (not so much cars though). I also enjoy other stuff on heritage...

Thanks BigD :) Am going for the football but if I go via the NUN any standing crush shouldn’t be for too long. At least no stinky khazi voyagers lol Sounds promising ta.

Cross Country Cancellations - Emergency Timetable

What kind of service should I expect travelling NUN <-> LEI or PBO <-> LEI on a Sunday? (Coming from London looking to swerve the RRB on the MML) Much cancellations/overcrowding the norm?

On board ticket sales and operating speed

Get rid of 'em - never found anything worth reading in the metro anyway. This was the first bus of the day so they were all as pristine as could be.

On board ticket sales and operating speed

I always thank the driver but now middle doors are more common in Brighton and Hove I sometimes feel a bit awkward doing it - especially on a busy bus if you have to shout.

Will Labour scrap the £2 fare Cap? (now confirmed will rise to £3)

I'm sure when I lived in London 25 years ago you could buy paper travelcards from corner chops etc

Will Labour scrap the £2 fare Cap? (now confirmed will rise to £3)

The road pricing scheme I read about would be based on trackers that some cars already have for insurance purposes (to check you drive sensibly or something). Maybe this subject needs its on thread apologies for derailing things.

Will Labour scrap the £2 fare Cap? (now confirmed will rise to £3)

Not an issue for me as I walk, bus and train most of the time never had the desire/need to own a car in my life.

Personally I'd like to see them introduce road pricing - that should be plenty to pay for the £2 cap.

    Driver eyesight question

I wanted to be a train driver at one stage but was told it wasn't possible due to me wearing glasses for shortsightedness, this would have been mid-to-late 80s. I'm pretty sure this isn't the case now as I've seen bespectacled drivers and none of the job adverts on here appear to mention it. Was...

    Revenue Protection at Brighton

I once encountered them when I went to collect a lot of tickets from the machine for a future journey to save time on the day as it was an early start. They begrudgingly allowed me thru in the end.

Purchasing e-tickets and distributing them for a large group

Hmm, now u mention it could have been a refund :s. But in any case but both the TOCs said it was the others responsibility. Another reason I prefer to buy from the TOC providing the service it usually gives you a better interface when it comes to seat selection if a reservation is required...
