Telescope required to buy cigarettes !!!

I'm probably alone in saying "good". ... I really hate cigarettes. But there's no excuse for the prices being unreadable.

If you could create underwater tunnels for rail travel...

Since somebody mentioned Sodor, here's an idea: create Sodor. Or, rather, an artificial island (or chain of) between Barrow and Mann, with tunnels between the them, and then a tunnel between Mann and Ireland. The new island would contain a new city.

    Tell that to Pacer users!

    Cookies: Are you ready?

Indeed, I just worked out a way of doing the tracking without cookies regardless. Just needs a database of IP addresses and everything done server side. They really are fighting the wrong thing entirely.

What is so bad about voyagers ?

Honestly the toilet smell seems to be a problem with trains in general. I've had it on at least voyagers, pendelinos, and turbostars. Not saying it's not bad, but it's not really specific to voyagers.

    SNCB/NMBS Web Advertisements?

Most ads on the net are by Google or Yahoo, so if you use Google or Yahoo on a daily basis and search for such things you'll end up with ads targetted at you. Because those ads are used on many different sites of course, if you visit a website with "railways" in it's keyword tags, and then go...

    LM Liverpool-Euston

Aye, the majority of the time that's true; however recently every Liv-Brum train I've caught (only three, but nvm) that way has formed the Euston service, on platform 1. Afaik before electrification, the Liverpool Birmingham service was a through train joining the Birmingham to Leicester train...

Euston - Stafford with LM and Virgin: A Topsy Turvy World

Have only had my ticket checked once on a Virgin train, and that was yesterday; was beginning to think they don't have guards. London Midland however are more active. I've only really had regular, almost all-the-time checks by Cross Country.

    Cookies: Are you ready?

Not really; disabling javascript is something that goes a lot in line with disabling cookies, security wise, so the people who would want to disable cookies are likely to also be disabling javascript (or would if they knew how).

    Deliberate attack on rail infrastructure

Isn't it a bit irresponsible for them to print exactly how to do it!?

    Cookies: Are you ready?

Cookies are text files, any virus you get is not because of a cookie. http://www.cookiecentral.com/c_virus.htm It is - except I have noscript so it doesn't show to me until I add the site to a whitelist; while it can still add cookies.

    Cookies: Are you ready?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18194235 From this weekend all websites must obtain consent before storing cookies on user's computers. I am so annoyed at this, as they are complicating a basic feature of web browsing. Cookies are the standard for storing data on the user's machine...

    Arriva's West-Mids Expansion

Yes, that 63/4. It's still Midland... the NWM website says the timetable is correct until 06/06/2012, but the 63 isn't mentioned in any of June's timetable changes, so really not sure.

    Arriva's West-Mids Expansion

Thanks everyone. The 63 is a surprise. It's my local bus, and I use it occasionally, but always seem to be the only person on it, not sure why Arriva would want it. I'm not sure how many, but the ones I've seen have been a couple of plaxton centros, a wrights gemini single, and quite a few...

    Arriva's West-Mids Expansion

Does anyone have any links or articles about it? It all seems to be going on in the background. I know they're taking over a lot of Midland and Diamond's routes. They seem to have brought in a lot of new and nearly-new buses, mostly from Leicester. I note they've also opened a new garage...

    Hamleys

I dunno if it's just because it's in London but everything I saw in Hamleys seemed to be above RRP, especially the Lego. They seemed to have a good range of trains, including a wooden section that wasn't just Brio, but nothing particularly special.

    Read eBay Descriptions Carefully...

The description clearly said "you are bidding on a picture of...", and the FAQ directly beneath it answered "am I bidding on the torch or a picture" with "a picture".

    You can't sit here

If somebody won't move over, when there is no other seat on the train, I will stand in the aisle next to their seat. I've got to stand somewhere, might as well be right in their face.
