As i have been sorting through these last couple of days the many various Platform 5 pocket books , i have also now come across a fair number of the OPC Spotters Companion.
I never bought or used these in my underlining years , i do not seem to even recall them be on sale at many locations and...
1980 was the first and right through to 1989 when they started the separate DMU and EMU issues.
The covers do really show the changing Multiple Units of that era , the 1981 cover in particular and the 1982 showing 507s in Merseyside brand new

The only other oddment they did seems to be in 1989 when they issued this Summer Special , a soft backed issue , but detailing all Locomotives, Coaching Stock and Multiple Units .
They still did the Hardbacked full combined that year so a real one off
I started as Ian Allan abc , but then moved across to Platform 5 , and at the start they where the only ones doing a Coaching Stock Book
