With all due respect, this does seem to be a very I'm alright Jack attitude. Just because you can cope with the lockdown definitely doesn't mean that everyone can. Things like FaceTime are an amazing resource but they can't replace the "real thing". I live alone on the other side of the country...
They're having to do as much as possible online and hoping that restrictions are relaxed in time for us to do practical work, but not anticipating much delay to our passing out date. Like I said though this seems to be the exception to most other TOCs
Not quite TfL but I've just started training as a guard with EMR. It seems like this training going ahead is the exception rather than the rule though, for instance 2 friends who were mid training with SWR and Network Rail were told mid course that everything was suspended
I've noticed that Tesco seems particularly bad for the one way implementations, my nearest superstore you're meant to go all the way up and down every aisle to keep to the one way system but it isn't clear that the big wide aisle between the two 'rows' of aisles (if that's clear) isn't part of...
So if it turns out to be the case that immunity isn't a thing, where do we go? I assume it would be a case of accepting that COVID continues to circulate in much the same way as the usual winter diseases
I could do without that too, car registered in Glasgow under someone else's name spends all it's time down in Bucks, it's more common than you might think
To be fair, the Gatwick short haul operation is essentially already providing a low cost service in terms of fares, and to the best of my knowledge the contract is already pretty bad, much worse than I'm on at EZY for example. It wouldn't take too much doing to give the Gatwick fleet a lick of...
Just to start a slightly new topic, I've just moved from the great suburban wastelands of Glasgow to Bucks and there seems to be way more unnecessary excursions happening in this neck of the woods, massive groups of teens on the high street, people out sunbathing in the park down the road, the...
I'd just left my previous job to start a new career right as this all kicked off, spoken to my old company to see if they'd temporarily take me back on as furloughed crew seeing as my start date was delayed and they're actually pretty open to the idea. Don't know if anyone else is in a similar...
This seems as good a thread as any to ask this. I'm starting with EMR from St Pancras on the 20th of April (still happening just with online training thank god) but I've already signed a lease for a flat in and around London. I'm moving from Glasgow and just plan on using the van of a family...
I was a regular commuter to Schonefeld for about a year until I got a transfer home to Glasgow with my airline, long commutes are (imho) absolutely not the way to do things
Might just be a consequence of my local Tesco being the biggest in Scotland (bonus question for supermarket trivia fans) but I've just been in to buy shopping that I actually need and they were out of basically all cleaning supplies, most butter, flour, and pasta. The toilet roll aisle was...
I've signed a lease for a flat because I'll be relocating, meant to be stating April 20th with EMR and apparently everything is still going to plan. In light on Bojo's announcement today we'll see
