    St Pancras Departure Boards

I say both. There are frequent Thameslink departures shown, the first at 16:30, longest gap 7 minutes. The digital clock shows a time later than these departures. The analogue clock shows 16:10. A 20 minute gap in the timetable seems unlikely.

    Luton Airport DART ticketing discussion

I have put the question to Luton DART. Let's see what the response is.

    Luton Airport DART ticketing discussion

Are you sure that keyGo (PAYG) is valid on Luton DART ? The current keyGo map shows it as not valid. https://www.thameslinkrailway.com/-/media/goahead/gtr-all-shared-pdfs-and-documents/key-documents/gtr-1805-ret-keygo-area-map-v27.pdf

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

The latest competitor for the 'most extreme padding' award is the ******* child of Road Wars and Gogglebox. A few short clips of relatively mundane incidents, each repeated multiple times, with audience reaction. I forget the name. Edit: Apparently, a common term for a child born out of...

Would a 'Party Seven' with a Sparklets Beertap have counted as draught :)

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Sweet potato is fine. It is when it is used instead of ordinary potato to try and make a recipe seem more 'special' I usually decline. 'Cottage pie with sweet potato mash' for example.

A manually set speed limiter would also work. I used to have that.

Herts County Council - odd use of Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding

It looks like a shoppers/hospital bus to me. The Stevenage end extends to the Lister Hospital and Sainsbury's. The southern end terminates at the Brookfield Centre, somewhat short of the centre of Cheshunt. The URL of the timetable reflects this...

BBC Children's Programme, The Changes (1975)

Probably, but I suspect I have the details muddled up with the original 'Survivors' series, which was broadcast around the same time.

    Beer for 38p anyone...

This fares conversion table suggests there were no 1/2p fares. https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/RAIL-1005_409_1971-decimalisation.jpg The rule for 6d fares (from that table):

Orthodox and Catholic\Western Christianity currently co-exist with different dates for Easter. (Gregorian vs Julian calendars.)

I saw that price myself early last week. As best as I can tell, it was 'fixed' very soon after.

From memory, a fancy shaped beefburger.

What Ticket should I buy in London. One day travel card or use PAYG Oyster/bank card.

As best as I can tell, mobile phones do themselves contain magnets. For the speaker and, if so equipped, the vibration motor. You can test using a cheap magnetic needle compass. If the phone can deflect the compass needle, it is magnetic. Whether these magnets are strong enough to corrupt a...

    Speeding Fine

Useful message, but unfair question, too complicated for most people using just mental arithmetic. v^2 = u^2 +2as Assume a is constant (probably some variation, but you have to start somewhere) Assume s=1 (any value would work) Solve for a using v=0, u=30 (-450) Solve for v using u=40 and a...

    Speeding Fine

For clarity, I have not been invited to attend a speed awareness course. I was wondering if those who have learnt anything less obvious they could pass on.

Everybody here has been complimentary about speed awareness courses. Are there any tips to pass on ?

    Luton Airport DART ticketing discussion

It does look like DART contactless payments are handled by TfL. My DART trip yesterday has now appeared in my TfL journey history. I have no idea how much of the fare goes to TfL.

Luton DART and Luton Airport Parkway Updates

I tried the Luton DART today. The shuttles have internal screens listing flights. These screens are mostly blank/dark space. The text is so small you would have to be really close to read it. I suspect this will get fixed.

    LHR T5 Pods

The hotel claim the charge goes to the Pod operator. The word 'free' has many interpretations. https://www.thistle.com/heathrow-terminal-5/heathrow-pods
