The Leighton Buzzard Railway are currently raising funds for a 0.75 mile extension. The appeal is for 150k so seems quite achievable. The idea is to have more run in the countryside as the expansion of the town has reduced that.
Very little you can do with under 16’s. I usually give them a lecture and warnings about a repeat and let them travel to their destination. What else can you do? If a persistent offender then it would be escalated.
It sounds very similar to Alex’s mantra when he was at Northern Rail - ‘A railway the north can be proud of’ - look how that turned out.
He strikes me as very ambitious and clearly has political designs.
Even less trains are being run on Saturday. Someone on here was saying they would run later - not the case at all. Starting later and finishing earlier on a few routes.
For anyone who may be interested these are running up both lines this Friday night and into Saturday morning. Will go from Doncaster to Harrogate then Harrogate to Skipton via Leeds.
If you look at the timings I imagine this is more to give Great Ayton (Population 5000) an evening peak service from Boro. Battersby being the end of token section probably just a logical turn around point.
